Mangrove Projects

Our commitment to ‘putting something back’ goes beyond support for local wildlife charities, it stretches over 100km up the Indonesian coastline!

That’s because over the years, we’ve planted more than 300,000 mangrove seedlings off-shore as part of our work with the prawn farming communities and local NGO’s. We won’t stop there either. Our goal is to reach 1 million mangrove seedlings!

If you’re thinking, ‘why mangroves?’, well they bring a wealth of benefits to sea creatures, birds, the coastal environment and even the farmers inland.

Acting as an important wave barrier, they provide protection for the farms against the risk of flooding, and by bringing more species of fish towards the shore (attracted by the mangrove root nodules) they help local fishermen to make their living too.

It’s as good a way as any to look after a coastline that looks after us.
